The Challenges
- Create a more sophisticated Web presence
- Increase the inn's business in three key markets: business, leisure and romance travelers
- Offer guests the convenience of booking reservations online
The Solution - Insite Unlimited Opens the Door to New Markets
The new Edward II Inn and Suites Web site helps potential guests explore many accommodation possibilities from upscale, elegant suites to economical pensione-style rooms.
Designed to attract a variety of travelers, the new Edward II Web site includes professional photos and detailed descriptions for every room type in the inn. A new reservation system accepts room bookings from the Web site 24/7, up to a year in advance. Additional booking forms were added to each Web page so guests can check availability from anywhere on the site and reserve the room of their choice with ease. A San Francisco Activities page gives guests a head start on their sightseeing plans. To expand the inn's Internet presence, the site has been optimized for search engines based on Insite Unlimited's research to identify a range of keywords and phrases most likely to be used by each of the inn's specific target audiences. Using the fresh new content developed for the Web site, Insite Unlimited continued Edward II's online marketing efforts by rewriting listing pages and updating photos that appear on popular travel Web sites such as Expedia, BedAndBreakfast.com and others.
The Outcome
- Hotel room bookings have increased dramatically.
- The inn's cost of booking rooms has decreased because 1) the inn pays fewer commissions for rooms booked through other sources, and 2) staff spends less time responding to e-mailed, phoned and faxed reservation requests.
- In addition to people who typically seek romantic bed and breakfast accommodations, Edward II now attracts business travelers and vacationers, such as seniors, who seek value and comfort.
