WEB DESIGN PROCESS
Insite Unlimited follows a discerning design process to create a Web site that becomes an important component of your total marketing program. Through our process, we become more than our clients' Web designers; we are their researchers, marketing experts, art and color consultants, problem solvers, trouble shooters, and Web trainers, too.
Step 1: Research and Discovery
We start by learning your needs and objectives and then researching your industry and your audience to
- establish your Web site goals,
- determine a visual style that accurately represents your business's identity,
- help you choose a domain name, a Web host and appropriate Web applications, and
- identify the best ways to communicate with your target market.
Step 2: Foundation Work
Next, we lay the groundwork for an interesting, informative, interactive and easy to navigate Web site. We determine how to organize the site, and we create an outline of what content will be developed and what types of images and visual styles will best illustrate your information.
Step 3: Design and Development
At this stage, we first focus on visual concepts for the home page, as it sets the tone for the rest of the site. After reviewing your home page feedback, we develop designs for the other pages. We thrive on feedback, and we incorporate your comments and revise our design accordingly. Concurrent with the visual design, we begin writing the copy and gathering illustrations whether photographs, customized drawings or stock images.
Step 4: Production
Now we're ready to meld your design and content with programming. At the end of this step, we verify that your Web site works on all major browsers and thoroughly test every application so the Web site will be clearly seen and fully interactive.
Step 5: Launch
You will have the opportunity to review the site before it becomes "live" on the Internet. Upon your approval, we upload your files to your Web host and launch the site. Afterwards, we take care of minor issues, such as small changes to the text or the addition of links to other Web sites, for 30 days at no additional charge.
Step 6: Knowledge Transfer
We give every client a customized guidebook that includes a CD with a copy of your completed Web site, a copy of your Web site text (in Word format), all vendor information, user names and passwords, and instructions for email and any Web applications your site may contain. We also provide a Web Site Style Guide that includes color and typeface information so you can coordinate other marketing collateral with the Web site. In addition, training is available to clients to wish to maintain all or parts of their Web sites themselves.
